The experimental design studio Achten+Pavlíček deals with parametric design, design performance, and design to production. The philosophy of the studio is to look at contemporary architectural theory and work done in offices such as Foster + Partners, UN Studio, MVRDV, and BIG, to name a few. We advance a design-by-research approach, in which a critical stance towards the problem is supported by systematic and rigorous testing of alternatives. The assignment of this semester is to design a public library in London, near Thames river, at Potters Fields Park.
